NABL

The National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) is a constituent board of the Quality Council of India (QCI), which is set up under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. NABL provides accreditation to Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs) in India.

Main function of NABL is to assess and accredit testing and calibration laboratories to ensure the accuracy and reliability of their test and calibration results. NABL accreditation is based on the international standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017, which specifies the general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.

The NABL Accreditation Provides a Number of Benefits to Laboratories, Including:

  • Improved reputation and credibility: NABL accreditation is a recognized mark of quality and competence, which can help laboratories to improve their reputation and credibility with clients.
  • Increased market access: NABL accreditation can help laboratories to gain access to new markets, both domestically and internationally.
  • Enhanced technical competence: The NABL accreditation process helps laboratories to improve their technical competence by identifying and addressing areas of weakness.
  • Reduced costs: By improving the quality and efficiency of their operations, NABL-accredited laboratories can reduce their costs.
