HAZLOC

HAZLOC stands as an acronym to Hazardous Locations. The certification process has two elements namely Product Test & Assessment and Factory Inspection.

There are three ways in which hazardous locations are classifies: type, condition and nature.

There are further classifications under these three labels as under:

• Type: The three types of hazardous conditions include Class 1 (Gas and Vapour), Class 2 (Dust) and Class 3 (Fibers)
• Condition: The two kinds of hazardous conditions include Division 1 (Normal) and Division 2 (Abnormal)
• Nature: The nature of hazardous material/substance is classified as Groups A, B, C and D in Class 1 locations and Groups E, F and G in Class 2 locations.
